Me and my family has to visit Qatar for few days. Travelling by air is very expensive .... funny, I wonder why the air travel is so expensive when Qatar is just "next-door" when living in Abu Dhabi. So ultimate option is to go by road.

Someone told me that being a non-Gulf citizen I might not be allowed to drive to Qatar ... probably due to some rules change in Saudi.

Would appreciate if someone can guide me regarding this + what is the correct procedure to go about it ... i.e. will I need 2 transit visas (I have to come back also by road), visa requirements, etc.

  1. if you have Dubai residence Visa u just need permission to enter Qatar contact Qatar embassy for coming back u don't need it , have safe trip ,

  2. If you have a resident visa stamped on your passport, get the saudi (go through) & qatar visit visas... It is still possible...

Abu Dhabi to Doha (Qatar) is by road only 545 Kms.

The major issues to be faced in Saudi Border (Ghuweifat Check Post)... Anyhow... Still saudi to UAE & UAE to Saudi travel is allowed for Resident Visa holders and ofcourse, there is some restrictions depends the profession on visa.

    Thx
