i am looking for moderately supplementing with natural testosterone derived from plant. I have read that it comes from either soy or wild yam. If anyone has any info on the whole thing, please share. I came up with low testosterone and dont want to do the HRT done with the salts which the doctors are prescribing. Help!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I'm not sure the soy isoflavonoids are going to help.  Soy isoflavonoids help with estrogen functioning.

As for wild yam, according to this article: http://ezinearticles.com/?Low-Testostero... using a progesterone cream may help with low testosterone.  You can get wild yam cream at many different health stores, or try it online.

    Hope this helps!

  2. DO NOT take soy or wild yam. Soy is antagonistic for natural testosterone production. Wild yam is said to provide women with progesterone but that is debatable. Even so, you dont want that if you are a man. Its a WOMANS supplement ONLY!

There are ways you can boost testosterone without taking testosterone itself. You can try herbal products that are aromatase inhibitors. Aromatase is an enzyme that converts testosterone to oestrogen so by blocking this enzyme you increase testosterone.

Chamomile tea: contains a natural aromatase inhibitor. Other supplements/products you should be able to find there that contain aromatase inhibitors naturally: propolis, grapefruit juice, passiflora incarnata/coerulea.

Body builders often take chrysin (potent aromatase inhibitor), which is sourced from passiflora coerulea. But Passiflora incarnata, which is available in most health stores, is a source of another quite potent aromatase inhibitor called benzoflavone.

Nettle root by blocking a testosterone-binding protein can increase testosterone. If you combine this with one of the aromatase-inhibitting herbs mentioned above it could boost testosterone. Try these and see if your testosterone levels are boosted. If not then you would have to resort to conventional medicine. Also worth noting is that if you are someone who produces alot of aromatase naturally, then even if you supplement with testosterone some of this will be converted to oestrogen. So get your aromatase levels checked out.

    Best wishes.
