I may be moving there from Canada. If you lived or live there, what do you think? I hear it is nice, but everyone has different likes and dislikes. Gracias.

  1. Hello.  As a fellow Canadian my favourite country is Honduras and I'm jealous that you may be moving there, that day is years away for me still!  Keep in mind that while the average salary is $3000 that doesn't really mean it's comparable to our salaries.  $3000 will get you a lot more down there than it will here.  Honestly I wasn't the biggest fan of San Pedro Sula, but I didn't spend more than a few days there.  If you have travelled to any other Latin American country I found it to be fairly similar in most ways.  Tela is an absolutely beautiful place, smaller but much nicer.  La Ceiba is a bigger city and also very beautiful and I would personally choose that rather than Sula.  Just my opinion, sorry I couldn't be of more help.  Cheers!

  2. I would take a stab at saying that it is a much better place to vacation at then to live.  I think it's practically a third world country, they are pretty poor there, much like the rest of latin america.  The GDP per capita there is $3000 (canada's is $34,000)  SO, unless you already have tons of money to live on for the rest of your life, and want to move to paradise, then sure go ahead.  But if you still need to work to live, I think your job options might be slim down there.

  3. OK, I used to live in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, but I know some things about San Pedro Sula (S.P.S.) As you might know, honduras is a third world country so dont expect much technological advancement, entertainment, and life style. San Pedro Sula's climate is really really really hot so you might have a little problem with the wheather as you are coming from Canada!!!! As for crime, its pretty high a lot of express kidnapping occur every now and then, so be aware. Traffic is really bad, my brother used to work in SPS and  I dont know if he was sarcastic but he said that pretty much there were accidents every day because people there drive rectlessly. It sounds like I am trying to prevent you from going but SPS is a  nice place to live, just be careful.
