  1. Looks like you got the stuff that hit here around midnight last night (I'm around the Dayton, Ohio area). The lightning was really intense and the thunder sounded like a wrecking ball hitting a building.

Friday morning that line of storms was reaching from Toledo all the way to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and there were reports of tornadoes in Illinois and Indiana, we were under a tornado watch for 7 hours and one touched down about 30 miles southeast of here. A friend of mine in Indiana said they had hail and 70 mph winds with that storm.. I can't believe that storm is still holding together.

  2. That can happen during severe weather of any kind.... especially during a strong downburst

  3. I'm all the way upstate, near Utica, and we just had one h**l of a hailstorm.  Apparently the whole state is a mess!

  4. I live near the Pacific ocean, 19º North, it is common here  to see complete darkness in about 30 minutes after sun sets.

Near the Gulf of Mexico coast I once saw that phenomenom, get complete dark in seconds.  No tornadoes AT ALL in Mexico, I tougth it most have been due to non-reflective condition of land, as seen from east coast, and mountains too, while in Pacific we have sea reflecting surface when sun sets. That is my discrete opinion
