Anyone no of any unusal foods in Germany around Stuttgart?

Im going to Germany in August and have a project of food and drink. Can anyone name me any unusual foods they eat in ceratin places around Stuttgart?

I have pleasant memories of some of the suggestions above,having worked in Germany! One suggestion for "unusual" would be Zwiebelkuchen (Onion Tart)....I'd ordered a slice of this before my German was good enough to know what "Zwiebel" was,having sampled other varieties of "Kuchen" (cake!)...(tip-it should be served heated.. :)

) Another would be Kartoffelpuffer mit apfelmuss-a type of potato and onion pancake served with apple puree. (Hash browns come close to this..)

Well Stuttgart has a lot swabian food (schwäbisch) such as Kässpätzle (Swabian cheese noodles),Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli),Flädlesuppe (Pancake soup) or Linsen und Spätzle (Lentils and Spaetzle and vienna sausage)

The most typical food around Stuttgart is Schwäbische Maultaschen are known and enjoyed the world over. You may use your imagination when it comes to mixing the ingredients, but spinach is a „must“. If your looking for something unusual look for saumagen. Its usually only served in the most traditional German resteraunts. Saumagen is an assortment of pork, potatoes, and carrots and spices cooked in a pigs stomach. Similar to Scottish Haggis. It sounds bad but its actually quite good.
