Yes this is a serious question...kinda, I love ranch dressing and this has really been pissing me off, it tastes like straight mayo...yes I know mayo is used in making ranch but d**n this sucks.

I just wondered if it's just here where live or if anyone else has noticed that Kraft brand buttermilk ranch dressing tastes like *** here lately. I have bought two separate bottles at different stores in different towns and they both taste like pure mayo. I got a salad tonight at a local restaurant and the ranch dressing on the salad bar tasted like mayonnaise also. I asked and they said yes they use Kraft brand ranch dressing. I just wondered if they changed it or what, Kraft was the only brand that I would buy...not now it's awful, guess I'll try Hidden Valley.

  1. If you like cheese, try the Kraft 3 Cheese Ranch dressing.  We love it but it is really rich.  I know what your saying about a difference in the dressing though.  I'm lucky I live by the border to the U.S. and I find there is a big difference in the dressings flavor that I buy over there, even though it's still Kraft.

  2. Make some up of your own either using the packets or do this:

    1 cup mayo

    1/2 cup buttermilk

    3/4 teaspoon dried chives

    3/4 teaspoon dried parsley

    3/4 teaspoon dried dill weed

    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    1/2 teaspoon onion powder

    1/8 teaspoon salt

    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

  3. things have away of changing over time....the chuncky candy bar available  now a day taste nothing like what I loved as a child...nor does nutter butter sandwich cookies...they use cheaper ingredients. and in kraft dressing ...eggs and oil is cheaper than using cream...

buy the dry brands that call for butter milk...and mix your own...

  4. I switched to Hidden Valley also. I don't know what Kraft did to their  product but YUCK!  It is real nasty. I tried Paul Newman's brand and it isn't too bad, maybe try it.

  5. The only dressing I'll use is ranch and the only ranch I eat is kraft, but I hated the regular, I found that eating the Fat free, NOT THE LIGHT, kraft made a world of difference. I know hidden valley is the original and all but I think its horrid. And I hate buttermilk, so most dressings are out the window for me.

  6. I've found that all the bottled Ranch dressings I've tried pretty much taste that way.  What I like best now, outside of making your own from scratch, is preparing the dressing using Hidden Valley's dry Ranch Dressing & Dip mix.  I can control how much and what type mayo to use with it and sometimes I add Mrs. Dash Southwest Blend Seasoning to it for extra flavor.
