Anyone now how to cook good Mexican food?

can you give me a good Mexican receipt. and good Mexican or American dessert. thanks

The best thing about mexican food is that it's so easy!  It might help if you specified what you were thinking about since you can take virtually any meat, season it with a good fajita or mexican seasoning blend (usually cumin, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, chili), and wrap it in a tortilla with vegetables and cheese and have a burrito.  Or tacos - folded corn tortilla shells with meat and cheese and sometimes sauce.

Enchiladas are really easy and tasty - rolling the meat in tortillas and covering with red or green chili sauce, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions for garnish

My favorite mexican soup is chicken tortilla soup.

Nachos are another favorite - corn tortilla chips piled with cooked meat (hamburger, chicken, etc), with cheese and salsa - garnished with chopped onion and guacamole (an easy to make avocado dip).

Sopapillas are a popular dessert - deep fried puffy sweet bread sprinkled with  powdered sugar or just served with honey.  

Flan - a custard - would be another good choice but more complicated to make.

Actually, I just watched a Mexican food episode of Emeril Live on Fine Living channel last night.  I'll include the link.  There are recipes all over the place for these and they're very easy to make.  His Yucatan Lime Soup reminds me of Chicken Tortilla Soup.

Chili Con Carne is another favorite - but that's more texmex than mexican.  Worth a look at - with warm fresh tortillas it's the definition of comfort food.  :D

Just be sure to pick mild or medium heat sauces or salsas - depending on your tolerance for hot food.  If you need more help you can contact me on Yahoo IM.  I live in New Mexico and it's just how we cook, so I don't always think a whole lot about recipes for it.  lol
