Founded in 1923 in Frankfurt, Germany by a group Marxist Intellectuals it was affiliated with the Frankfurt University and was set up entirely Independent from Communists. It has been the centre point for developing Marxist theory. Sociologist Max Horkheimer is from the Frankfurt school of sociology. The Frankfurt School uses a wide of radical disciplines as it also uses psychoanalysis, sociology, existential philosophy and are the fathers of critical theory. They study individuals/groups/communities/societies in its relation to capitalist society using a variety of disciplines.
