About Manny! He's by far my favorite player, and Iv lived and breathed the Red Sox for 15 years. And now my fav player will be playing for Torre? Psh.

Bologna!

I refuse to believe that Jason Bay will fill his shoes on the team.

  1. Well then I guess you're going to remain unhappy because Manny was trash to have in the clubhouse even if he was a star on the field. Torre is very respectable and he's one of the best managers of the last 15 years. Manny will have a blast playing with the Dodgers and Torre. And Jason Bay is just about tied in every category besides being .018 less in the batting average category. That means every hundred times they both get up Manny would get 2 more hits than Bay. Not a big deal. Bay is a guy who will bring in a great work ethic and he will blend in really well with all the other hustlers we have on the team. Manny didn't fit in here, because he really only cared about the money.  Of course I'll miss him. He won 2 rings for us, but it's time for him to leave. He's not happy here and neither he nor the other 39 guys on our team deserve to be here if someone us unhappy.

    Edit:

We HAD to trade him! He was destroying the team and sabotaging our chances in the playoffs. We're better off without him.  Do you really know a lot about the Red Sox?

  2. You are the first person on here to actually admit that the Sox will miss Manny. Good to hear a Boston fan appreciate what he did for you guys

  3. Nope specially when your a Dodger fan, HOHOHOHO! lol

  4. Give Jason Bay and chance, geeze. OR LOOK AT THE STATS! I hope he proves people like you wrong. I hope the Rays still win division but I hope he does well to get yourself and others with the same sentiment (like Colin Cowherd) off of his back.

  5. I liked Manny on my team a lot,  But he had become such a distraction that they had to move him.  In return we got a less colorful player with similar stats.

Compare the situation to the Mets just before they let Randolph go.   They were struggling because they were so distracted.  Once that situation cleared up they got back to the matter at hand and started winning.  Hopefully the same will happen here.

How did we end up losing a couple of other players in the deal as well?  Did we get anything else in return?

  6. Well as you know, the moment a player on the Red Sox leaves the team he becomes Public Enemy #1. (i.e. Johnny Damon)

  7. No way can Jason Bay put up Manny's numbers or be the clubhouse leader that Manny was. Boston is deep but cannot recover from this swap.

  8. well he asked for the trade.

Im sorry for your loss, but don't worry we are going to take care of him! :)

no im not trying to rub it in (honest) im just happy about this trade!!

By the way Joe Torre is an Amazing manager, dont disrespect him like that!!

  9. I feel the same way.

Jason Bay can't fill in Manny's shoes. Point blank. Manny was a feared hitter, one of the best American League hitters in baseball. It is a huge loss for the team. I feel for Jason, he's got a lot of pressure on him from Red Sox fans.

But I understand it wasn't going to work out leaving Manny in the lineup. He acted very selfish and careless, saying that the Red Sox don't deserve him. I hope Manny sees how great he had it in Boston when he becomes yet again another forgotten Red Sox legend like Pedro, Nomar, and Damon.

  10. I am done as a Red Sox fan.  This team has been my fravoite my whole life.  I have seen this team do alot of bad moves and this is just the final straw.  I makes me think back to Lou Gorham and Dan Duquette.  There are always two sides to every story and Manny's side is the only side that has been put out so far.  I think the front office and the ownership think they are the m.e.n.s.a. version of baseball.  It seems the ownership and front office  peoples heads are getting a little to big.

  11. If I was a sox fan I'd be furious. You trade away your best player right in the middle of a pennant race? If the Red Sox do not win the AL this year, they should fire Epstein, this was a really stupid move.

  12. i agree this is total bullshit why cant they just say sorry and keep him on the team? lol. i just cant picture manny in a jersey other than a red sox or all star jersey.
