Question:

Anyone out there driven from the U.S., through Mexico, and on down to South America?

It's always been my personal dream do to this...and would be interested in those who have done this, or know of similar stories.

  1. Having gone from Minnesota to Costa Rica, I'd say what you're planning would be quite an adventure.  Just be prepared for poorly-maintained, winding narrow roads with crazy drivers, and annoying chaotic border crossings.  In Central

    America, take the inland route thru the highlands, its not as hot, the border crossings are much less busy chaotic and corrupt, and the scenery is better (at times, awesome).  Also don't drive at night if you can help it.


  2. It's a looong drive.

    Besides, you can't go from Panama to Colombia, there's a very dense jungle there.

    You'd need to ship your car from Panama to Colombia.

      I am not shure, but these way is very  dificult becouse aren´t not roads to conect us, is necessary use to cross it in a boat at Panama canal, and after use a rail road.

  4. yes  i have  with  my cousin  it  takes  a  long time   you  have to  go  through  10  countries   that  means  10   borders
