In some states you could go to jail for this, if you don't make good on the checks ASAP. At the very least, you are likely to incur $25 per check, plus possibly additional fees from the merchants you wrote bad checks to. In addition, many banks charge a service fee of $30 to $50 per day that you are overdrawn.
