I am currently trying to get a degree in chemistry but i was wondering if i could still get a good job even though my husband has a misdamenor/felony underage at 16 i heard no one can pull up his record only goverment jobs...???

since they say to get a chemistry degree in stead of a forensics degree because it is more broad, do you think i could try and become an fbi agent with a degree in chemist rather tan forensic's...???

ps. remembering that my husband has a misdeamenor do you think that will affect me 100%...????

  1. No it will not affect you however, all agencies (local/state/federal) can run his record, there is no such thing as a "sealed record" when applying for a Law Enforcement or High Security clearance job. They will ask you if you were involved with your husbands illicit activities at that time.  Other than that, you'll be fine.

As for FBI, if you have a degree in almost anything, they'll hire you.  However, it's not like the movies.  Since you are going for Chemistry, you'll be stuck in a lab 50-60 hours a week not being eligible for field work for at least 5 years.

  2. No, it will not.

  3. Your husband's record will get little notice.

As far as the degree, the FBI has a website for job seekers. http://www.fbijobs.gov/

You should find information about your degree there.

  4. keep in mind that no matter what you have a degree in.. you still have to go to thier academy.  and i dont think you should have anything to worry about regarding your husband but you might want to advise them anyway so it dont look like you are trying to hide anything.  if you dont mention it... it wont look good.
