I am looking for vacant (forest like) green land that I can build on. Like a cabin with a little vegetable garden. Off grid living/green living.

  1. yeah right, keep dreaming.

get some money and buy some.

and don't forget to buy a road leading to your cabin too.

nobody will let you build a road on their land so you'll probably have to buy that land as well.

  2. Ooh wow...I'd be very skeptical of someone who just invited me to live on their land...be careful!  I know that sounds a little over the top, and I really think you have a cool idea...but if I tried something like that I'd end up on some crazy serial killer's property knowing my luck...I'm all about the hippy lifestyle though! :)

  3. Keep going

  4. Communal living is a fine aspiration (and no it is not communism per se).  It is a noble goal to contribute your individual talents and effort for the good of all.

Added to that, you want to apply sustainable practices and to live harmoniously with our Earth instead of exploiting precious resources for commercial enterprises.

Good for you that you have the innocence to ask this of the general public.  I'm not ridiculing the idea at all but alas, to my experiences, the world has become cynical to a fault and there is not much hope of getting something for nothing.

This view is mostly influenced by the inherently unstable economic philosophies that influence the drive for profit in terms of dubious monetary value.  The land has been divided and tagged.  Privatization of resources sickens me.  Land, water, and soon even air!  I don't blame you for wanting to isolate yourself from this aspect of society.

If you want, until your wish is granted, donate your time and effort to an environmental organization.  The experience could make you feel like a steward of part of the world and provide some fulfillment.  Look for one that participates in the activities you've mentioned.  For the most part, I monitor and study water quality and habitats to enhance the survivability of aquafauna (fish, invertebrates, amphibians and such life).  Good luck

  5. You might want to look into working on an organic farm. I have some friends that work on farms that pay you in room and board. It is like communal living but it is a nice alternative way to live. Smaller operations in rural areas are your best bet to finding what you are looking for.

  6. good luck to you. I hope you find what you want.
