Anyone out there personally converted a car to electric?

I've been reading about it, but it still looks like a daunting expensive task with little hope of getting more than 40 miles per charge. Thanks for any REAL detailed advice (not that AGUA clown!) :)

Instead of running your car on electricity go to McDonalds and Wendy's and ask them if they have extra vegetable oil. Some Trucks can run on the vegetable oil!
