I did, just this January. I was scared at first but now can't imagine life any other way. The financial uncertainty is the only downside, but so far it hasn't been a question of "whether" the money will come, just "when." The worst day working for myself beats the best day on a job, hands down. Any other stories out there? Anyone thinking about taking the plunge?

  1. I left my job after 27 years.  I just couldn't stand the BS any longer.  Now I have my own business.  Some times it's red hot, other times it's ice cold.  But I provide excellent service and I've found that so few business do that.  I have no regrets, and I love being my own boss.  The hours can be long, but when it's your own business it doesn't matter.  It's just time in the day, and I love it.

  2. My husband left a job after 24 years.  He is now self employed.  He loves it.  He works from an office in our home.  He still starts at 7:00 and ends when he feel like it.  He can take a break and walk the dog, get something to eat or take a snooze.  He is the neighborhood watch during the day.  He makes more money now and he has less stress.  It was the best thing he ever did (after marrying me).
