Anyone out there who recalls the French Quarter of New Orleans in 1966?

I turned 17 in 1966. My sister lived in NOLA and we would go to the French Quarter. Pretty much the same. I used to love it. Not as many people and much less crime to worry about. I always felt pretty safe there.

The Quarter is cleaner now but the buildings of course looked better back then other wise my family says that everything else was about the same.

My dad worked at a pharmacy in the French Quarter during that time.  He says it is pretty much the same except that a couple of his favorite restaurants are no longer there.

When I was a kid my mom would take me to the Quarter all of the time.  Mardi Gras was a blast, with the parades in the Quarter.  Times were different then, and so was the Quarter.  It is much cleaner today, than then.  A bit scarier as well.
