  2. Yes, when I was a kid (1970s) people who turned 50 wore polyester most of the time or women wore muumuus outside of the house.  Now, it's normal for 50 y.o.s to wear jeans, shorts or even minis - and be in shape for those things.

When I first started going to clubs, a 1-nighter was normal as long as you brought along protection and used it.  Then it seemed like overnight, you had date drugs and other really ill behavior like stalking, etc.

  3. I've noticed every body seems so old now.  Back in the day. like about 1968 or 1969. My friends would say ' never trust anyone over 30.' That was ok until we turned 30 ourselves.

Also there is much more mixing of blood even at family reunions  there are dark people

  4. There was a dress code at my public school until 3rd grade, girls had to wear dresses, boys had to wear button down shirts always tucked in and yes schools were segregated by race. We had no other race teachers in our school.

More security, open relationships, two income families, engineered births, no phone booths, less censorship in the media, information at your fingertips (WEB)

  5. Definitely for the better. Technological advances make it possible to communicate and connect to people from all over the world. I lived in Japan for 2 years, I've traveled to Thailand (4) times and I can connect and stay in touch with people by email, web chats, cell phones, etc. This was not possible back in the 80's when I was growing up.

And with the Internet we now have access to information that was previously unavailable. And you can get answers to your questions instantly. People like to point to the bad things about the Internet, but there are many good things. I remember when I was an undergrad and planning to go to graduate school, I had to go to the University library, get a big fat reference book and look through all the different University programs I think I might want to apply to. If I had a question about that school's program, I had to call them, long distance at my expense, and ask the question. Sometimes I got an answer and sometimes I didn't.  Now, with the Internet, you can just look at the website and send an email if you have any questions. The convenience of today's society is dozens of times above what it was in the past. And with this access to information we can challenge those that feed us misinformation - like high school history teachers! LOL, okay that one's an inside story.

Plus with medical advances, including cloning, we have the possibility of living longer and healthier than ever before. The average life expectancy has increased and will likely continue to increase.
