  1. Yes u are right, people say that first a human is a baby then a

child then a teenager then an adult then a baby again then dies.

  2. LOL - Elderly tend to get that way. Their mind starts running sometimes. As for your father, he is looking for something to do obviously and although it is 90 outside that's okay as long as he doesn't over do it......my opinion anyway.

It sounds like your mother may have a case of dementia, i could be totally wrong though.

  3. Well...my parents aren't going crazy per say...(in their 50's) But, they act like they're in their 90's.  It's really annoying and I think it's going to lead to craziness.

As far as your father, he may need medical intervention...(your mom too).  When was their last check up?

  4. Oh my word...my parents are only in their 50's ...but they are GOING CRAZY just the same!!!!!!...they are like not going the same crazy as yours tho...they are like becoming meaner...and more moody and bitchy...and they are acting like they are about to kick the bucket any day and they aren't even past 55...its really pathetic..and ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!

your mother seems extremely young to be losing her memory like that...that just started happening to my grandmother 2-3 years ago and shes 85

  5. LoL, I'm betting your parents can at least, tell you from your sisters, brothers, nieces or nephews.

My mom occasionally calls me by several names, even the boys names, before getting the right one. Not sure if it's out of frustration, or she just has too many names to remember anymore.

    She just recently turned 64.

And Cindy -- I think the phrase you're looking for is: Once the woman, twice the child.

  6. Well, Your mom feels she knows everything because 40 years ago she did know everything, times have changed and now what she does is revert back to what she know best, so, to her, it makes sense and she wants it to make sense to you to. Your dad digging up the back yard is just a way of him giving himself something to do. My husband did the same thing a few years after he retired and the following spring he built me a new patio. So, there's a method to his madness, just wait, if you don't have a patio you will or you'll have a new Bar B Q area or something. Just Smile and Shake Your Head, It's going to be OK.

  7. What they are going through is a part of them getting old. I am sure your parents were there for you, and you should be willing to be there for them. You don't know whats going to happen to you once you get old. You thoughtless @#@$$%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. That is called aging but you do seem to be describing elshiemers have they been checked for that as a possibility because that may mean you have to keep a close eye on them...

It is very common in people thier age...

  9. It is typical for people's thinking become more ridged as they get older.  Change becomes harder to deal with and less appealing.  Additional, the desire for stimulation and excitement also tend to wane.

Finally fixating on past times and certain topics like you mentioned in your post are also common.

These are all normal parts of aging and can be minimize by actively working to keep an open mind about change and different ideas, , by exercising one's brain through mentally stimulating activities and finally by maintained a healthy body through diet and exercise.
