  1. Don't do anything more than riding on bike paths.  I've seen 2 Next brand bikes get broken now.  One of them broke going off of a high curb (6-8in).  So, when you come to a curb, speed bump, or a piece of gravel, you might want to get off and walk.

  2. NEXT bikes are generic (cheaply made) models that are sold by large wholesalers (ive seen them in toys r us, walmart, etc) ive had a few in my day and are pretty reliable for light riding. They are designed with mass production in mind, thus the quality/reliability of the parts may not be suitable for whatever riding you are trying to do. So no down hilling, even on the next bikes with "full suspension" you might die trying =P

other than that its a fine inexpensive bike to get around with.

  3. I personally would never buy a "big box store" bike.  The main reason is safety.  The bikes are put together by people who may not have a lot of experience and don't know how to properly assemble a bike.  They're also outfitted with sub-standard parts that will break if you use them for anything other than very light use.

For a few bucks more you probably could have gone to a local bike shop and bought a quality bike that was assembled by someone who knows what they're doing.

If you have a problem with your Next bike, take it to Wal-Mart and see if they're bike repair shop will fix it......
