If so, are they prone to any specific problems (i.e. german Shepard's are known to have hip problems and certain breeds get tumors.. stuff like that) also, do they have a specific temperament? anything i should know before my kitten arrives that the breeder wont tell me?

  1. Toygers are originally Bengal cats crossed with tabbies, so the only issue that seems to crop up health wise is the same as with bengals:  sensitive tummies.  Because bengals have Asian Leoparad blood in them, so toygers will as well, they are more tolerant of meat and can be sensitive to fillers in cat food such as corn.  So stick to the food your breeder's been using and if you want to change, do it slooooowly over three weeks or so.

They are like laid-back bengals, so very high energy and sociable when they're in a crazy mood, but laid back and easygoing at other times.  Apparantly some also enjoy playing in water.  I know with my bengals that I can't keep glasses of water round the house or I'll come back to an empty glass and a puddle...

    Hehe, enjoy your pet.

  2. with so many kittens euthanized in shelters every day for the only reason of there are not enough homes for the kittens we already have in this world, why don't you go to the shelter and see who picks you out and you would be doing a good thing by saving a life.
