Much, much more freedom of speech, freedom of the press, political freedom, economic freedom, educational freedom in the US.

USA: a society where safety of citizens is compromised by freedom of individuals.

Singapore: a society where freedom of individuals is compromised by safety of citizens.

singapore is a lot safer, definitely. but in the US you can speak out more. ( more freedom of speech). there was the recent debate about how some people accused the singaporean govt for not exercising human rights. but as a true-blue singaporean, i can say that i do not mind the 'less freedom' thing. our standards of living are high, quality of life is high, it's so safe, and the basic rights of a human being is provided for each and ever singaporean.

other than the hot weather and the seemingly stressful education system, i haven't got much else to complain about.
