I just read the outsiders, but I'm having some troubles with the books ideas?

Identify three examples of setting in the first few chapters. can you help explain what the clue is the page number, and how it contribues to the setting as we know it?

  1. Yes i have read Outsiders.

  2. I have read the Outsiders a bunch of times. It's a great novel. I would be happy to help any way I can, but I haven't read it in a year or two, so correct me if I'm wrong.

The first setting is the drive in movie theatre. That is where the boys (Darry, Two-Bit, Johnny, and Ponyboy) encounter two Soc girls (Cherri and Marcia). They become friends, but the girls boyfriends soon come start a fight when they try to walk them home.

The second setting is the park. This is where Ponyboy and Johnny get beat up by the boyfriends of the two girls and other Soc's. As they almost drown Ponyboy in the fountain, Johnny stabs Bob (Cherri's boyfriend), with his switch blade to stop them.

The third setting is the church. This is where the boys hide out from the police for Bob's killing. Here they reflect on many things. Mostly life, and what they see in it.

    I tried. :)

    Good luck.
