  1. Leave your laptop home ..your on vacation, leave the world behind

  2. They have all the connections you need and accessories.

  3. On the last three Carnival Cruises I have been on all of the ships had wireless. (Conquest, Triumph, Elation) It is not available throughout the ship. I was able to get it in my room on the Elation and Conquest because my room happened to be below a wireless hot-spot. You will be able to get it on the Lido deck if you want to work outside and you can also get it in the bar near the computer room in case you feel like drinking. I need access for my work (yes even on vacation I have to work) so my company pays for it and it is pricey. ($100 for 250 minutes) It is also slow. I would down load what information I needed, disconnect from the network, rework the data and then reconnect to send it. By using that methodology the 250 minutes was more than enough to do the necessary work and pick up email from my kids.  Hope this is of some help to you.

  4. I was just on the Pride and it had internet access for you laptop. i didn't bring mine so I can't give you specifics but did see many people using them. Not a great answer but pack it, I know you can use it. You will have to get an air time card

  5. I think all ships have Internet access right in your cabin.  I took my laptop to Italy and had Internet  access right in my room.  However my e-mail was not compatible with theirs.

which is why I took my laptop with me.  You can use the computor lab on the ship with better results.  you have to pay for the minutes you use, but even with the cabin access there was a fee.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Wifi available, but per minute costs same as the internet cafe...

  7. With carnival u have to check with the cruise line if the ship u r on has wifi. At one time not all the ships had it.

    From Carnival.com:

Guests may bring their own personal laptop for use on board by using our Wireless Internet Service. Please note that the internet pricing options are identical, whether an Internet Café terminal is utilized, or a laptop. If the laptop is not equipped with a Wireless Internet Card, guests can rent one from the Internet Café. Please see below for more information. The Wireless Internet Service is compatible with a Wireless 802.11b card, which is the industry standard.

To access the Wireless Internet Service, the guest’s laptop must be in relative close proximity to a Wireless Access Point. The specific locations of access points vary from ship to ship. A complete list of these locations can be obtained from the Internet Café.

In addition, several Carnival ships also have bow-to-stern wireless access, which allows guests to access the Internet from anywhere on the ship, including from the comfort of their staterooms.  These ships are the Carnival Imagination, Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Victory, Carnival Pride, Carnival Legend, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Splendor and Carnival Freedom.  To take full advantage of this feature, guests should bring their personal laptops along with them, as the number of laptops available for rent onboard is limited.

    Internet Café Price List :

To utilize the internet service, the below options are available. Please note that the internet pricing options are identical, whether an Internet Café terminal is utilized, or a laptop. All internet access charges will be billed directly to the guest's onboard “Sail & Sign” Account:

An initial one-time Activation Fee of $3.95 applies to each user.

A basic time charge of $0.75 per minute (“Pay-As-You-Go”) is available. Minutes are rounded to the next full minute.

Discounted “Time Plans” offer guests the opportunity to enjoy a lower per-minute rate. These Time Plans do not have to be used in a single session and can be used anytime throughout the cruise until debarkation; No refund for unused minutes; Upgrading selected pricing option is not available. Plans are subject to change.

Cruises 6 days in length and longer:

    100 minutes for $55.00 ($0.55 per minute)

    250 minutes for $100.00 ($0.40 per minute)

Cruises less than 6 days in length:

    30 minutes for $16.50 ($0.55 per minute)

    60 minutes for $24.00 ($0.40 per minute)

To rent a Wireless Radio Card for a guest's personal laptop, the rate is $10.00 per day; Optional insurance is $3.00 per day. This allows guests to connect their laptops to the ship's wireless signal and is in addition to the Internet price plans.

A limited number of laptops are available for rent with a Time Plan purchase; optional insurance is $10.00 per day.
