I've just started learning how to play on my sister's acoustic guitar, and it's not too great so I was wondering, can anyone recommend any good guitars? That are reasonably priced, i don't even mind buying from ebay!

Thanks

  1. any kind of fender

  2. I play a martin. It's sounds amazing.

  3. Taylor, Martin, Takamine & Carvin (these are custom built to your specs) are all good brands.  Avoid Fender. They make great electric instruments but their acoustic stuff is a little junky. I've owned a 12 string and mandolin. They were ok but not the best quality and I had issues with the tuners slipping alot which resulted in the instruments not holding tune well.  Also avoid Applause. Their instruments seem to have dead frets sometimes and also seem to have tuning issues.  Gibsons are good but avoid ones that are made in the 80s. There is a big long story there but all of the people that had been there left the company and they went overseas and were very sub-par. The quality picked back up in the 1990s.

  4. Taylor

  5. big baby taylor!!! (they go for around 300 on ebay)

go to guitar center if u have one near your and just play on the guitars!

they have over hundreds of guitars on their walls. u can just pick one and test it out

i go to guitar center every once in a while just for fun :)

i have a taylor, and it sounds GREAT. only problem is, it's over $2000. im very luck to have one :)

try a yamaha. that was my first guitar and i loved it!

  6. Best thing to do would be go to your local guitar store and start playing some different guitars.  You won't know what your getting if you don't play it first.  The shape (jumbo, dreadnought, concert, etc) of the guitar itself will greatly influence the sound.  So will the types of wood used to make.  Also, depending on how well the guitar is setup will make a huge difference in how "easy" it will be to play.  If you want a decent sounding, good quality guitar, be prepared to pay at least $500.  I would recommend Alvarez line of guitars, that is if you are looking for reasonable price, excellent quality and great sound.  However, this may be better suited for an intermediate player.  If you are still a beginner, you can probably get by with something less expensive for awhile.  In my opinion, there isn't much difference in the cheaper guitars, there's just bad and really bad.
