I want to find some unusual gifts to bring home (mostly for me!). I'll be staying in P6 but probably spend most time in Prague 1

Ideas?

  1. Sort of depends on what you're looking for...

My favorite for gift shopping is Manufaktura. They've got a bunch of stores around town, but I love the one right down by Old Town Square (the link below should have a map). They have really cool handmade stuff, and traditional arts & crafts type things. I could happily spend hours browsing in that shop! http://www.prague-life.com/shop/shops_de...

There's also a great bookstore behind svatý Týn (also in Old Town). It's called Anagram, and they carry a lot of really good translations of Czech authors (some of them rare), as well as a great selection of other books. http://www.anagram.cz/

If you're looking for more standard shopping (i.e. less nerdy ^_^), I like the mall at Anděl. It's less expensive than Václavské náměstí, but they've got just as many good shops (in my opinion, anyway).

And, if you're super-loaded, there's always Pařížská ulice for couture and jewelry and the like.

Hope those are of some help! : )
