Question:

Anyone redeem the timeshare gift?

I just signed up to go to a 90 minute timeshare presentation with Worldmark by Wyndham. They offered a free gift of 2 night +airfare to Las Vegas. Are there hidden fees in that gift, and is it hard to redeem? Are they going to put me up in some dump motel off the strip? Anyone ever redeem this?

I really am interested in going to the presentation and learning about their company, since my parents own with another timeshare company. I've had the opportunity to listen to other sales pitches so I'm curious what they have to offer.

  1. I haven't myself but I've heard nightmare stories. However, a friend of mine, her parents went to one not too long ago in Branson and they had NO INTENTION of buying a time share but they loved their trip. They said it was awesome and they only had to sit through the seminar and that was it. I feel it was dishonest of them but they did enjoy their trip.

  2. Wyndham is a reputable company. As such I would imagine that they will live up to that reputation. I've redeemed timeshare gifts from two other companies, and I've never had any problems with either except that:

    1. Travel dates were stipulated (September through December) with restrictions on the days of travel. So in one case, I had a connecting flight instead of non-stop. For the other, it was non-stop.

    2. The hotel/inn were first class, but the rooms both times were probably the least expensive (though still very nice). I solved that problem by upgrading once I arrived.

All and all, if the company is reputable, you'll probably be quite happy with the gift. And of course, if the conditions are not agreeable, you're not obliged to redeem it!
