Which (French) newspapers that can be bought today most resemble their counterpart in 1960.

Also, if I was in Paris in 1960 and was dialling another Paris number, how many digits would I have to dial

  1. I'm almost sure  it was  8 digits dialling numbers. nowdays it's 10 digits, just 01 at the beginning.

  2. I cannot answer the second question. As for the first, a lot of local or political newspapers have disappeared (as "Le Matin", left, "Le Quotidien", right). Some have changed as "Le Monde" which was supposed to be a reference of serious information but which turned into "normal newspaper" , "Liberation" was very left and turned into what French call "gauche caviar". Only two remain as they were in 1960: 'L'humanité" (communist) and "Le Figaro" as conservative as ever.
