Ok, I'm gonna take a quick walk down memory lane for a second. Does anyone remember Starlab? You know that giant gray inflatable dome in elementary school that you crawled into and looked at the projected stars? Hopefully I'm ringing a bell for some of you.

Well, I want to buy one. No, really. Does anyone know where I can get it and the estimated cost? I know this is a little random, but I decided to get myself a mid-life crisis present a little early... like 30 years early. Oh well.

  1. Try

    Learning technologies Inc.

I used one as a high school science teacher in the 90s. They're part of Project STAR's (Science Teaching Through its Astronomical Roots) curriculum -- a very goo hands-on high school astronomy curriculum.

They start at $13,550 and go up to over $30,000.

They apparently have a new digital projector at about $48,000

    (yeah, they are pretty cool)

  2. Starlab was thee BEST!! memory I have from elementary!

  3. I know what your talking about, when I was in 5th or 6th grade they came to our school and I thought it was the coolest thing.  Anyways I'm pretty sure they aren't for sale, and if they are its likely in excess of 20 grand.

  4. There are a lot of more affordable options. Toy planetary projectors are as little as $25.
