  1. We whined less. I think it's because we have more space than Aussies.

I do remember a lot of tourist groups being very excited, but the rest of Toronto being frustrated with the pilgrims.

  2. what is world youth day?

  3. Sydneysiders are actually pretty accomodating with things like this APEC for example, the ones kicking up the stink are the jockeys and horsebreeders at randwick and the train union are using this as a platform to hand out ultimatums. I'm not against it i think its a great boost to the local economy but i will be leaving the country while its on.

  4. In Sydney we are enduring far too many reminders of having our freedoms cancelled, e.g. for this latest 'invasion ' we are not allowed to wear t-shirts that might annoy any of the Youth Day Pilgrims. A lot of taxpayers' money is being spent on this religious festival, and we are not a particularly religious country. It has not been handled well, particularly given the recent scandals about catholic clergy. I used to be a catholic, and bear them no ill-will, but it looks like a big party for the catholics that the rest of us are paying for .. we were never asked if we wanted to hold the party at our place!

  5. So the gov. gives 106 million, suspends the constitution of the country, calls trade unions 'terrorists' for threatening to inconvenience 'pilgrims'. And for some reason every media outlet starts spewing catholic propaganda.

Yeah, your right. We should all just be quiet like good little sheep. Sorry, I hope you weren't annoyed with me, how about i just give you the 5 grand now and you don't tell the authorities. I don't want to get in trouble.
