I grew up in Fairfield Road in Bow till i moved out to essex 15 years ago. Just moved back to stratford and there are no cockneys left. Everyone is either the arty student type or city boys. Locals now seem to talk in a caribean / indian / kent accent its really wierd. Can't even find a true cockney in the Bow Bells pub!

  1. nah mate they all moved to essex wif the proceeds of there bank robberys

  2. depends where you were born if you were born in bow you ain't a cockney my old china the bow bells are not in bow church this is just an area called bow, bow bells are in st Mary Le bow in the city, if you grew up in fairfield road your not a cockney either, your just an east Londoner I'm afraid, i was born near shorditch within the one & a half mile radius of the bells sound, this does make me a cockney but..... i really am afraid to say most of children of asians in brick lane are in fact cockneys. whoops!

  3. there all mouthy essex boys now and come to london and get there heads kicked in for pretending to be geezers when theyre farmers

  4. im a real cockney, well i werent born in bow but im an east londoner born and bred.from leytonstone.is that good enough? i know wot u mean though living in east london is like living in another country! i was on the bus the other day with my mum and we were the only ENGLISH speaking people on there.its nice to live in multi cultural city but to be out numbered in your own country is sad i think.especially when our own culture is bein lost along the way.

  5. me and my family are true south east londoners! some still talk true cockney so yeh there are still some left!! loads round here to be honest. were white:)
