Anyone shed light on co-dependence?

Is a person too bossy a sign of codependence too?

It can be, it was in my case.  I came from a very abusive home and the only way I ever felt in control in my relationships after I grew up was to be in control.  Many people have told me that I was very difficult to get to know and I come across as an angry *****.  A lot of therapy later I can say that I no longer need to be in control.  But that angery, insecurity, and need for control got me into a lot of relationships that were co-dependant and painful.
