I went there last week and only spent 50 bucks for a week of groc for 4 people. However, when I went to cook the steakums I bought they were rotten. How is the food there typically? Is it hit or miss?? I am not comfortable shopping where I may or may not get rotten or bug infested food, ya know? If you don't recommend Sav a Lot, where else can I get cheap groceries? Thanks so much.

  1. Most of the foods at Save A Lot are good. Once in a while you may come across something that isn't what you thought it should be. The one by me, is really good, and I can feed a family of 5 for very little money.

Aldi's is a good store. They just don't carry some of the cuts of meat I need, so I end up going to Save A Lot for the meats. Other than that, it's a great store.

They're both reasonably priced, and carry the same basic items, just usually not a lot of brand names.

  2. you just have to get what bargans they have i have a save a lot here then i go some where else what i cant get there.

  3. I've found Sav a Lot to be kind of hit or miss. In my area we have Aldi and I like them a lot better. They're cleaner, they have pretty good quality meat and their store brands are good.
