Anyone started volleyball at a later age and caught up?

i really want to make the team but these girls have been playing forever. can i catch up?

You can make it.  It is never too late.

I started playing serious volleyball during my freshman year in college.  I did not decide on volleyball as my main sport until after college.  That is when I started playing every day and twice a day on some days.  I got to play in the men's AA division.  At the time, it was the top division in men's volleyball.  (I only played that level once and I was overmatched, but I played it once.)  

That shows that it is never too late to learn to play.  You will have to work harder than anyone else on the team, but you can do it.

yes it is definetly possible if you work hard at the beginning and throughout and you really love the game...i didn't start to play volleyball til grade 10...and now i am a university setter, i worked hard and i love the sport...go for it good luck!!!!

yes indeed. i have. hun, if you put your mind to it, and practice, come with a positive attitude and believe in yourself anything is possible. just put your heart and soul in it, be prepared, and practice any free second you have.

i started playing jan. of 6th grade, kept practicing, and made A-team in aug.

it just depends on how much you love the game

how you practice

and your discipline for practice

oh

and your PERSONALITY

that's the key in ALL sports

the girls who have been playing forever KNOW they are good

so they will be snooty

be smart and just show your skills don't show off

and the coaches will DEFIANTLY notice you

I had never played volleyball and I decided to try out my sophomore year and made jv...1 year later i was a junior and starting varsity. so i guess what i'm trying to say is that shows that a lot of progress can be made in a short time...just practice, a lot.
