Anyone stayed at Lake Como in Italy?

What would you say is the best area to stay for a couple of nights in June?

I went there on a day trip from Bergamo.. it´s a beautiful place. Sorry but my friends took me and I don´t know exactly what area did I go.

Hotel du Lac in Varenna. It's by far the best on a budget. If you go in early June the rhodies and camillias are in riotus bloom and make for great photos.

Remember, even though Lago di Como is close to Switzerland, it's a Mediterranean climate, with palm and orange trees, so the later you go, the hotter it gets in Milan, just 1/2 hour away.

I stayed a couple nights in Bellagio a couple years.  Its a small town but its really beautiful.  Not the cheapest place to stay but its worth it for a couple nights.  I also visited Varenna on the north side of the lake.  You cant lose at Lago di Como, everything is so beautiful.
