  1. I am currently suffering from it, the full name is Symphasis Pubis Dysfunction (spd) and recently the name has been changed to pelvic girdle pain (pcp). My mid wife referred me to physio for it and I was shown some excercises. I was given a support belt and a tubular bandage. However, I find these a bit useless because the bandage thingy rolls down under my clothes and ends up in a big roll across my bump and with the belt you cant sit down with it so you have to put it on and off all the time unless you are standing up all the time.  The best thing to do is not to walk about too much and take small breaks frequently.

As far as the birth goes I am not sure as I didnt have it in my first preganacy. If it becomes really unsufferable I would hope that you can opt for a c-section.  I think maybe a kneeling position or a water birth would probably be best for a natural delivery.  Try www.babycenter.co.uk for more info on this and ask your midwife to refer you to a physiotherapist for exrta support.

I have had it from 16 weeks and am now 28 weeks and it is steadily getting worse so I wish you all the best x

  5. hi im 30 weeks on wednesday and have had this for the past few weeks. sorry to say but it just gets more painful the bigger the baby grows. my midwife gave me a leaflet on how to get out of bed etc and told me to wear a band that goes round your waist(tubigrip i think) keeps everything together although im still waiting for it 3 weeks later! you can still have a natural birth as my friend did and she had it you just have to be careful how far you can open your legs during labour.

  6. i havent had it i know someone who has she had a c section.
