I am a girl who's def not tough or aggressive, so I am trying to see how seedy it can get - it is the kind of situation where you can fall asleep or should I be worried? Is the crowd quiet kind of like on planes or are they loud and unruly? Thinking to go from NY to Ohio.

Freaking air travel costs too much...

  1. yes but it no diffent then if you take a bus

  2. My BF took a Greyhound trip this Spring and according to him, it was the most unpleasant trip he's ever been on and this was not the first time he took Greyhound as the method of transportation. He said that the drivers were very rude and unhelpful + he was stranded on a busy highway for about 3 hours because the bus he was on broke down when the bus depot was only a few miles away. I was scared for him when he informed me about this. Luckily, it was during the day. It was so bad that he said he would rather pay more for an airline flight than to take a Greyhound bus anywhere.

    I hope I helped.

  3. If you live in NYC area consider this:  take NJ Transit to Trenton then ride SEPTA to Philadelphia airport for about $50 round trip this will allow you to fly Southwest airlines to either Columbus or Cleveland Ohio

  4. I took a long Greyhound triprecentlyy.  There were some people who wernot very clean, or very bright, but everyone was courteous and non-threatening.  Greyhound was a disaster.  Filthy, falling-apart stations, dirty, falling-apart buses, long unscheduled delays, rude staff, rude drivers, and they lost my luggage.  Today, 2 months later, they found it.  It is 2000 miles from where I now am and it is my responsibility to figure out how to get it.  So...I was not happy with Greyhound!  For my return trip, I used Craigslist to find a ride and it worked wonderfully.  I recommend you look on Craigslist under rideshare, and post a message there too.  You can also check out the new ridefinder site called Zimride.

  5. My friend, Greyhound is very safe. In recent year, the company has added new buses and new timetables. Their drivers are polite and will help you with anything you need.

This is not the Greyhound system from 10 or 15 years ago. You will be very fine.

    Good luck
