  1. I've only been on 1 cruise....but it was a carnival (western Caribbean) cruise and it was fantastic! I couldn't have asked for a better trip!!

  2. I went on the triumph last year, and other than the motion sickness i had, i have to say,it was awesome,we had a blast ,i recommend when you go cruiseing, you should go with friends or family,it woulld be kinda boring if it were just you and your mate, cause every body there is doing there own thing.not that any body is rude, but like i said, it's better to bring a group.

  3. Depends on what you're wanting out of a cruise.

I've been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. No real substantial difference between the two from what I've seen.

Carnival caters more towards a vibrant, rowdy young clientele. So, if that appeals to you, then it may well be the best choice for you. In any event, I have heard others sayt that Carnival is, at least, a great way to get started in cruising.

  4. great fun.  Ship for first timers, families and party folks.  Most reasonable for the $

  5. I have cruised several times on Carnival, NCL and Celebrity.

My first choice will always be Carnival though.  They really are the "fun ship".  Regardless of your age - in my opinion.

I talked 5 other family members - ages 25 thru 60 in to doing a Carnival Cruise with me.  The others had all cruised before too.

The couldn't believe that Carnival wasn't "just" for young people.  It caters to all ages.

    Have fun.

  6. carnival is "The Fun Ships" . this goes for young and old alike. my cruise group range in age from 18 to 81 and every one has a blast every time ...

  7. I took my whole family on the Imagination last year - 8 cabins - it was their yearly presents all rolled-up into one. We went out of Tampa for 5 nights and had a great cruise.

The Imagination was very well taken care of - nothing seemed to be wearing out or in need of replacement. She only has about 20 cabins with balconys, and those are only in the suites, but even with her age, we found nothing lacking. The buffet gets crowded, but other than that I had no complaints. The food was OK - not great. The entertainment was the best of any ship I have been on - and we cruise at least twice a year, so that's a big endorsement. The bars and night clubs were a lot of fun - especially those on the Promenade Deck.

She is one of 8 - yes 8 - identical ships that Carnival built in the mid 1990s. Her sister ships are the Fantasy, Sensation, Fascination, Imagination, Inspiration, Ecstasy, Elation and Paradise. They are all in the mid-to-large category at 70,000+ tons and carrying 2000+ passengers. Although they all have absolutely identical deck plans, the interior decor varies from ship to ship. However, if you've been on one of them, you'll feel like you know all of them well.

By the way, you may not know that Carnival has the largest standard cabins of any cruise line - 185 sq. ft. compared to 155 - 175 on others.

Carnival delivered what it promised and we enjoyed our cruise, and I hope you do too!

Some final thoughts; 1) make sure you use a good travel agent; 2) ask your travel agent to price out "Celebrity Cruise Line" for you - absolutely the best (our personal favorite!); and 3) remember that August - October is hurricane season in the Caribbean.

Have fun - planning is a big part of the enjoyment!

    Bon voyage!

  8. I have sailed with Carnival, Royal Caribbean and NCL and to me the best out of those was Carnival i dont care what anyone says. One those ships there is nothing but fun. and for that second qquestion YES!!!!!! carnival is the best in everything.

  9. I have been on two.  We enjoyed them.  They could have been better, but when you balance out the price for the experience, I would continue going with them.
