  1. My mom uses metformin and its to treat her Diabetes, somthing about reducing the amount of glucose made by the liver....Like someone else mentioned, what is pcos?...regular cycles of what? :)

  2. I was diagnosed with PCOS when my first child was 10 months old.  By taking the Metformin (750 mg twice daily) and following the book The Insulin Resistence Diet, I was able to very quickly regulate my cycles and conceive my second child. Ask your doctor about that diet.

  3. Isn't metformin a diabetes drug?  Most of my relatives take it because they're diabetic, around 1,000 mg. What is pcos? And what do you mean regular cycles with it?

    EDIT

I just researched pcos.  It has something to do with the body not being able to accept insulin.  Since that's what metformin does, I gues it'll work.  Er... I hope this helps!

  4. I am taking Metformin for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.  It does give you regular cycles if you take it faithfully.  I have had this condition since the age of 12.  Started on the metformin and have 2 sons and trying for a daughter!

  5. From what I understand it's a first line treatment for PCOS.  I took it until I became pregnant (about 6-7 months) and it did help regulate my cycles.  Good luck.  Be careful of the unpleasant gastro side-effects, you'll have to learn how to adjust your diet so that you don't get sick.
