I never ave personally done it but when iworked at sonic i saw a one of the cooks drop a tortilla on the floor pick it up and use it about two weeks later she got promoted to asst manager

NEVER!  Bottom line and once, when I saw someone try to pull that, I announced with my big mouth that if that person tries to use that food, they will be fired................... immediately!  Or, like one time when I saw a higher ranking person try it, I said, "Oh please, don't tell me that you're gonna do that?" and those were the only times in my life that I have seen such actions and they never really happened and that comforts me.  That's another reason why I also like to eat at places with open kitchens!

No, I think that that would be wrong to do. Would you want someone to do that to you?

I caught a co-worker trying to grill a steak that had fallen on the floor for a customer that was rude to his girlfriend who was waiting on him. I called him out on it and loudly informed him that he was wrong and I brought it to my managers attention. People who do things like that because someone was rude are pathetic and immature.

By messing with peoples food, you could create a bigger problem than dealing with a rude person.

Yes, I worked at Houlihans in college and this guy Andre would spit in peoples food all the time, the cooks always pick food off the floor and the servers always pich food off the floor.  I have worked in 7 Houlihans and it happens all the time.  The worst is how dirty the kitchen is.  One more thing, do not ever order a drink from a female bartender that has nice nails.  If they have nice nails the soap in the sink it ruins them.  So they dont use any soap in the sink.  Always order a bottle of beer, it is safer.
