well, casy has dreams and hopes of helping people and making up for his sins and himself feeling he is not fit to be a preacher...he sacrifices himself for others...he battles with himself to find his place in life and tries to meet his goals.

ma's dream is to get the family through the hard times and keep the family as one.

rosesharon's dream is to get to california with connie and get jobs and a house and live happily ever after...

Ma also has a dream for Tom to be safe and be smart so that he will not end up in jail or in trouble because she looks to him for support...
