  1. My dad and mum were on their honeymoon in 1969, the shops will all have changed so I can't answer that.

  2. Been to the Island a lot over the years -- last time was for the TT 2006 races.

To be honest, the Isle of Man's not really a shopping paradise... most people go for the history/heritage, the countryside, the seaside and the open roads. =D

Anyway, one way and another I've done a lot of browsing, buying and window-shopping there.

There are crafts shops dotted around -- including a nice clutch at the Tynwald Mill arts and crafts centre in St John's. I found a little open-air craft market in Port St Mary, but I think that was an occasional thing. Got some beautiful handmade greetings cards there though.

What else...? Antiques shops in Peel (and a luvverly ice-cream shop on the seafront), and some good bistros, restaurants and bars in Douglas and Castletown.  And Douglas has a good shopping area with the usual clothes/ department shops.

You'll also find plenty of tourist-tat shops, bike/ bike accessories shops, and a handful of yachtie/ chandlery shops.

Hope that's at least a bit of help...

It's a gorgeous place, though. Why not chuck some of your spending money at hiring a car, and go exploring?

    =D
