Boat test in OZ?

im going to take my restricted boat operator test later next week. i wonder if anyone has taken it before and if the questions are the same as the sample questions in 'Recreation boating handbook'

im taking the test in melbourne australia

any help to calm my nerves will be heplful

i will give full marks to anyone that helps me...

P.S. im also taking the PWC test as well

  1. Hey, may be a bit late for help but yes the questions are similar to the sample questions.  As long as you have read the book it's no harder than your L-plates test.

    I did my test at a night session, a bit of a different way.  An ex-cargo ship captain ran sessions at patterson river, covering all the things you need to know for the test and mixes it in with his own stories and hints/tips as well as extra info on safety and first aid etc.  Took about 3 hours - at the end of this, you get a simple 10-question test then a certificate.  Take the certificate to Vicroads and $28 later they give you the licence.

    It's a lot easier and less stressful than a test!  It was ~$50 though for memory, but learnt a lot more from it.
