Question:

Anyone think Favre might actually be going to the New York Jets?

Brett would be out of the NFC. The Jets aren't on the schedule this year. And, from rumor, the Jets have a better offer on the table. Granted Favre might be more successful with the Jets than with the Bucs and the Packers would want Brett to be less successful. But wouldn't it be more prudent for the Packers to send him there?

  1. it has just been announced that favre will be traded to tampa bay

  2. I'm not a fan of the Packers or the Jets, but I think this trade is a mistake by Brett. He has such a strong identity as a Packer, he should have either called it good and taken the $20 million to sit at home and keep his mouth shut, or he shouldn't have retired in the first place. Now he will have p ssed off a lot of fans that used to love him, and it will weaken his legacy whenever he retires for real. I think a great athlete is greater if he sticks with one team to the end. When you think Michael Jordan, what team do you think of? Bulls, even though he didn't end with them. It would have been classier of him to stay retired and leave his legacy with the team that he built it with.

  3. The trade will more then likely be finalized within the next 24 hours.  I do want him to go to the Jets.  I am a huge Jets fan and I think that he would do much better then Pennington or Clemens.  However I am concerned that the Bucs might get him.

It would be a stupid move on his part to go to the Bucs because the Jets will offer a much better offense for him.  He is not playing in the NFC North and that is the end of that!  The Packers will not allow that.  So I guess tomorrow we will know the verdict.

  4. IDK, but i know that it's either the Jets or the Bucs.

  5. At this point with his flip-flopping, anything is possible. I love the QB but I think he should go back to retirement. Be a commentator so we can see and hear him all the time.

He loves the game but it's over. If he is smart he will go back to calling it quits. I can't stand the fact that he could be playing for another team.

I know it happens all the time. That's football for you.

  6. He's already rejected that idea. I think it would be a good fit, but Favre wants to go somewhere he believes has a chance of really competing. The general consensus is that the Jets are not there yet. As far as Favre's success, the Pack doesn't care how successful he is, so long as he is not successful at knocking them out of the playoff race. That is all they really care about. That does make the Jets a good spot from their perspective, but if Brett doesn't want to go there, it just won't happen.

  7. They're not going to trade him.

  8. He's goin' to Vikings or Atlanta. he was talking to there managers

  9. if he plays for the jets which the packers would like he would never make it to the playoffs that division is all ways won by the patriots not saying the jets don't have a chance but i don't see it happning. tampa bay is a much better place gruden is framlier with farve and its a week division  you have the saints panthers and falcons tampa will win with farve there. then the packers have to worry about farve and the bucs in the playoff at the end of today he will be a fuckanner

  10. Regardless of where he is traded, regardless of his records or past success, this gives him precious little time to grasp and entirely new offense and develop chemistry with an entirely new corps of receivers and hand offs to a new backfield.

At this point, I'd be concerned of the damaged done by trying to insert him into a line-up, rather than moving forward with the players you have available.

Wonder if he and Vinny Testaverde can spend one week as backups on each AFC team....the old guy's tour...

  11. You would think that the Packers would try to push Favre out of the NFC that way he would not have a chance to hurt them in the playoffs if he is in Tampa. If either team would make it that is.
