Anyone think the Olive Garden is c**p!!?

I laugh at the commercials because the food looks disgusting and they are always coming up with newer, sicker concoctions.

Yea, they do go overboard on the commercials. That's for sure!

I do love pasta. But I think of pasta as being a lesser expensive food item.

So what kills me about Olive Garden is that they are basically serving various pastas at expensive prices.

I am not saying their food is bad tasting.  I just don't like to go there much.

I feel that if I would search the 'net for recipes, I could make those dishes at home for so much less $$.

No it's not c**p !  Not one taste wil satisfy everyone, that's why there are so many different restaurants, so you can go somewhere else if they are not to your liking.

  It's a shame, but read the questions and answers of yahoo long enough, and you'll find that every business in the country is on somebody's s**t  list for one reason or another.

  Olive Garden by the way is another division of Red Lobster.

What they serve at the Olive Garden is not even close to being true Italian food. The only people who think so are those who no nothing about fine cuisines.

Look beyond the Applebees and Chilis, people. Try going to a restaurant that actually has a CHEF, not line cooks.

No. I like their food, but it of course isn't real Italian, since its a chain.  The food is decent (but may depend on location), however is getting OVERPRICED.  Portion sizes have gotten smaller, but prices have gone up.  The other thing is, their wine is terrible.  I usually try a sample when offered, but never like any of their house wines...and they charge at least $20-25/bottle for a bottle of zinfandel that should be like $5 in a store.  I do however, LOVE their "reverse" Andes candies mints.

It's ok but there are certainly better italian restaurants around. Olive Garden is good but it gets pricey for what you are getting.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's "c**p", but honestly, I think everyone else I know likes it A LOT more than I do (especially my girlfriend, meaning we go there anytime she gets to pick the place).

I think the salad is great, and the breadsticks are good, too, but everything else is just "okay" . . . nothing I would rave about.

Also, I like beef, so I've ordered almost every beef dish they have there, and they never cook it properly . . . it's always overcooked and tough.

I'm sure I'll go there again (girlfriend ;) ), but it certainly wouldn't ever be my first choice.

I think people who go to Olive Garden often don't have very many choices based on where they live.

Not all OGs are successful; I've known two that closed bc local people had better choices.

I'm not a huge fan, but it's not so bad when I'm stuck in my parents' town.

It is pretty crappy. lol I used to love this place but it's gotten pretty bad over the years. Still love the salad and bread sticks though.
