Anyone thinks Bolt is going to break Michael Johnson's 200M WR?

I saw Bolt ran the semis and he ran a 20.09. It seems like he didn't even try in the last 30 meters and still ran under 20.10. Anyone thinks MJ's 200M WR is in jeopardy?

yes i know he will, if you watched the 200 m semis today he was practically jogging the last 30m and he was only a second from the record, if he focuses and goes all out in the final he will smash MJ's record to pieces, he could have gotten in the 9.5 ranges if he didnt stop after 80 yards to celebrate in the 100

like most people have said.

he can afford to jog near the end and get that kind of good timing so close to the WR.

so yeah, I'm confident he will...

MJ's average was 9.66s/100m... and Bolt, running the 100m (which has a naturally lower average speed then the 200m) got within .03 seconds of that.

so its possible

Its NOT in jeopardy and i will tell you why BOLT races to win not to break records we will never see his fullest potential because he is goin to showboat once he realizes he won before the race is even over . he could have cracked 9.5 in the 100m if he wanted to

I definitely thinks it's in jeopardy if Usain Bolt goes all out like you said.  That guy makes it look so easy.  I think he shut down at about 150 even.  The last 50m was like a leisurely jog.  That guy is FAST :)

Remember, the 200m is much about sprinting stamina as well as speed. We know Bolt has more than enough speed to break Johnson's record, but whether he has the stamina is the question.  

I don't think anyone knows, but he's only run 19.6 odd before so he'd have to have improved stamina wise/curve running dramatically since a few months ago. I see no real indication that it has, so in answer to your question;

I think most likely, he'll run 19.4 odd this year and break Johnson's record later on down the line. I predict 19.42 to 19.56. Let's see!
