Anyone tried CONTIKI EUROPE TOURS before?

HOW WAS IT? were the hotels up to standard? was there ample chances to roam around freely or was it more coach rides from place to place where u don't get to dismount to have a taste of the place. Pls share your experience, would be beneficial....

I'm thinking of taking Mediterranean Tour later this year...

I have not use them before because of the age bracket they will cover. I am using Trafalgar tours for my European trip. Here are a few sites to try as well a good one to get air and hotel costs.

i believe contiki is linked to trafalgar tours which was the company i used when i traveled to italy.  one of the travelers on my tour was originally booked with contiki but there was a problem with the tour and she was directed to trafalgar.  i remember staying in one of the hotels and their was a contiki tour there as well.  some of the hotels were not so good.  we did spend a lot of time on the coach and i wish i has more free time, although you did get some, but not enough especially if you took the optional tours they offered with for a fee.
