Question:

Anyone tried "Master Cleanse"?

I've heard "Master Cleanse" referenced before, and I'm getting kind of curious. It sounds like a more natural, gentle way to help flush your body out of unpleasant chemicals, but I'd probably take it as a supplement rather than just subsisting on it without food for two weeks, which sounds dangerous. Obviously I'm not expecting it to cure diseases or make me lose weight, but I don't see any harm in trying it instead of all the coffee I usually drink.

Has anyone tried it? I'm not looking for recommendations for other similar products, I'd just like to know what experiences people may have had with this one.

  1. The whole point of the Master Cleanse is that you DON'T eat while doing it.  Not eating is part of the cleanse.

The MC drink is to give your body enough minerals, Vit C, etc, to be able to manage not eating for several days.

We all did it at my office a couple of months ago.  I only lasted 2 days - got bored and wanted to have food. Others went 5 days, 7 days.  Everyone felt great, looked good.  After the first day, not hungry.

The guy who did it the longest was also going to the gym every day plus having a swim every day.  He said he felt full of energy.

We're all going to do it again as the fall comes.  it's good to do it with others - helps you get over going for food out of habit and boredom.
