3 men go into a hotel room that costs $30 so each guy pays $10. When they get upstairs the clerk dude realizes he overcharged $5 so he sends the bellboy up with $5. The bellboy starts to think (uh oh) and gives each guy $1, keeping $2 for himself. If each guy paid $9 = $27 + bellboy kept $2 = $29??????????????????????

  1. You're not supposed to multiply the three guys by 9 dollars...

    clerk=25 for the room

    bellboy=2 for himself

    guys=3 in return

    25+2+3=$30, the amount that was originally paid

  2. they paid $30

    correct room price = $25

    therefore, each person supposed to pay 25/3 = 8.333*

    bellboy went with $5

    instead of giving them $1, he supposed to give them 5/3 = 1.9666*

    8.3+1.9= 9.9 (approx. $10)

    therefore they would have gotten back their correct money,

    but

    he gave them $1 each

    so they had 8.3+1= 9.3*

    9.3 X 3 = 27.9 (approx. $28)

    bellboy kept $2

    $28 +$2 = $30!

  3. Well, since he overcharged 5 dollars, you have to 30.00 - 5.00 and you get 25$. Then, $3.00 goes to the three men and two to the Bellboy. Which equals out to $30.00. You never subtracted the 5$ from 30$ so you started with 30$. I don't think I explained very well, but I hope this helps!

  4. Clerk gets 30 bucks. Bellboy brings up 5 more bucks. 35 bucks so far. Bellboy gives each guy 1 buck back. 35 - 3 = 32 bucks. Bellboy still has two bucks w/him. 32 - 2 = 30 bucks. Hope I helped.

  5. ok the clerk has 25 the bell boy has 2 then the dudes have 3

  6. ummmm then the bellboy got five dollars and and then idk had four dollars.... that is confusing...the person who told u maybe got confused and said it worng or messed up. but 9=27 = 2 does equal 29.

  7. Was this supposed to be a joke?
