  1. I've used food grade DE for organic pest protection in my home and on my pets for a long time.  I finally heard about it being good for people with arthritis, so I thought "why not?"  I started taking it over 2 weeks ago.  Maybe it's the placebo effect, but I swear I'm already having less pain in my knees, and it's easier to get out of bed in the morning.  I'll know more after I've taken it for a few more weeks.  But I've had absolutely no negative side effects.  Some people say they detox too fast if they take a lot at first, but I haven't experienced that.  I'm taking a tablespoon at night and in the evening, mixed with juice.  It makes the juice a little chalky tasting, but it isn't unpleasant.  I seem to have a bit more energy during the day.  Again, maybe it's too early to say definitively that the DE is helping, but it sure hasn't hurt me.  If you google DE for human use, you'll find a lot of information.  See the site below for one.

  2. Look. Diatomaceous Earth is only consumed when it's used for getting internal parasites in Pets. Even then, I wouldn't want to use it.

I mean, they're little shells that scratch things up. That's why it's used to keep parasites and kill them. Sure, there are other uses, but still, -you- don't want to swallow it.

  3. I can't imagine anyone eating diatomaceous earth, the stuff is almost pure silica.  It has absolutely no nutritional value and it is abrasive and full of pointy little pieces that would do some serious damage to your GI tract.
