Has anyone used these?

I kind of like the idea, so that the stems will not be showing, and, so it dresses up the tuxes.

If so, how do they attach to the tux? Do they have a pin on the back (like how broaches have a pin)

  1. I personally have not used them, but I have seen them used.

They do have a pin on the back, and sometimes hold a small amount of water to keep the flowers from wilting.

It is a pretty neat idea, but I'm not sure it's necessary.  Florists will cover the stems with floral tape, which will keep the flowers and greenery together.  It also helps stabilize and support a heavier flower, whereas these may not.  As far as the tux, there is also a button hole in the lapel the stems can be put through before the boutonniere is pinned on.

If you want to still use them, make sure you advise your florist ahead of time, and bring them in so the boutonniere can be made with the holder in mind.

    Good luck!

  2. They are a royal pain to get them to lay right if you're using silk flowers!  (I don't know about real ones)  I'd take it with you to the florist so they can make it look right.  And yes, they have pins on the back like a broach.

  3. I've never even heard of them.  But it looks kind of like the mussy-tussy (tussy-mussy?) that held my mothers' bouquets.

They are nice, and at $2 each not a stretch of the budget.  Even if you get 10, that's only $20.  (Groom, party, and fathers...)

  4. I recently last year got married and my husband used one with his suite for the reception and it attached in the same aspect as a broach! Funny thing we can't find it now.........  LOL It's not that important but the coordinator of the wedding purchased it!
